Hi, I'm Simon, aka rumcake.

I've been producing for years. Late nights trying to find the sweet spot and whole weekends lost to partying. I have tunes published on the major platforms but they don't pay the bills. So, I thought I'd use my creative skills to self-build interesting sound generating tools.

CymaticPlate was the first result: a physically simulated plate you can strike, bow with audio, and watch. Real cymatics, sand finding the nodal lines, the same physics you'd get bolting a steel sheet to a frame and hitting it. Hammer time.

One plugin became a collection. Each rumcake instrument is a different real phenomenon you can play: mercury switches swinging on a rail, a lightning discharge that arpeggiates as it forks, a self-evolving reaction-diffusion bloom, a ferrofluid spiking to a techno pulse, and a murmuration looper that flies your audio. No two sound alike, because none of them are faking it. The physics does the work; I make it musical and put a moving picture on top.

Lately I've started a second line: deep editors for the hardware I love. Kronos 3 Editor is the first, a fast editor and librarian that puts a Korg Kronos 3 on one screen. Made for the gear we already love, the same obsession with getting the small things right.
