Refund Policy

Who you are buying from

rumcake is a trading name of Dimension Warriors Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 13327493). We develop and support the software. Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders, and Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Paddle.com Market Ltd processes your payment and handles invoicing, currency conversion and sales tax/VAT on our behalf.

Try before you buy

Every rumcake plugin is available as a fully functional free trial. The trial is the complete plugin, every feature, every preset, with a short noise wash over the output every 30 seconds until you activate it with a license key. We strongly encourage you to download and run the trial first to confirm it works with your setup (your macOS version, Apple silicon or Intel, and your DAW in AU or VST3) and that you like how it sounds, before you buy. Because you can fully evaluate the plugin for free, our paid keys are issued on the understanding that you have already confirmed compatibility.

Kronos 3 Editor works a little differently, because it has no audio output to wash. It runs as a fully functional free trial for 7 days, with editing and writes to your Kronos enabled. After 7 days it stays usable in read-only (you can still connect, pull, and browse your Kronos) until you activate with a license key. We encourage you to install it and confirm it connects to your Kronos 3 before you buy. One license covers two computers, which you can manage or move yourself from your account page.

What you receive

Each purchase delivers a digital download and a unique license key that is serialised to your email at the time of purchase. For the physics plugins the key is verified locally by an RSA signature, with no activation server contacted at runtime. Kronos 3 Editor verifies your key the same way and additionally activates online, to enforce its two-computer limit and to disable access if a purchase is refunded; it keeps working offline between checks. The key is personal to you and non-transferable; it cannot be resold or shared. Because the key is generated and bound to your order on delivery, the product is treated as supplied in full once it has been issued.

When we will refund you

If something is genuinely wrong, we will make it right. We offer a refund where, within 14 days of purchase, the plugin: fails to install or activate with the key we issued; crashes or does not function on a supported macOS configuration; is materially not as described on this site; or was purchased as an accidental duplicate. We are happy to help you troubleshoot first, since most issues are a quick fix.

When we cannot refund

Because the plugin can be fully evaluated for free before purchase, we generally cannot refund: a change of mind after you have downloaded and activated a paid key; a purchase made without first trying the free trial; or use on a configuration we clearly state is not supported. None of this limits your legal rights below.

Your right to cancel under UK law

For digital content supplied immediately, the normal 14-day right to cancel is lost once download has begun, where you have given express consent to immediate supply and acknowledged that you will lose the right to cancel. This is set out in Regulation 37 and Schedule 3 of the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 (the loss-of-right disclosure is the pre-contract information at Schedule 2, item (m)). You give this consent and acknowledgement at checkout before the download is made available.

Your statutory rights are not affected

Nothing in this policy reduces your statutory rights. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, the software we supply must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, and as described. If it is faulty, you are entitled to a repair or replacement and, where that is not possible or does not fix the problem, a price reduction or a refund, even outside the goodwill window above.

How to request a refund

Email us first at contact@rumcakerecords.com so we can help or arrange the refund. Because Paddle is our Merchant of Record, you can also request a refund directly from Paddle using the link in your receipt email, or via paddle.net. Please quote your Paddle order number in either case.

Timing

We aim to respond to refund and support requests within 1-2 business days. Once a refund is approved, Paddle processes it and it typically appears on your original payment method within roughly 3-10 business days, depending on your bank or card provider.
