The product
A real dielectric breakdown.
Lichtenberg grows a forked electric discharge across a 64x64 dielectric breakdown field. Play a note and a leader seeds at that column, branching toward ground; every column the bolt crosses fires its note, so one strike blooms into an arpeggiated chord. The first branch to reach ground is the return stroke, the loudest moment, then thunder rolls.
Dielectric breakdown model
A Niemeyer-Pietronero-Wiesmann breakdown field, relaxed with successive over-relaxation. Branchiness dials from bushy sheet lightning to sparse, sharp filaments.
Storm voice
A snapping crack that chirps down into rolling low thunder, under an airy stereo wind bed and a distant rumble reverb. Only the big and ground strikes truly rumble.
Strike it by hand
Click and drag the panel to throw a bolt anywhere. Every strike emits MIDI out to drive your other gear.
Hear it
Nine storms.
From a single forked bolt to a cavern-sized storm, each preset retunes the voltage, branchiness, and thunder. Click a card to hear the wiring.
